DJ TR!P

“People will be dropping this guy’s name before too long, because DJ TR!P is the next eccentric genius of electronic music.” - Liquid Space Media

DJ TR!P is an award winning producer, composer and performer of electronic music. Over the past 10 years he has built an impressive repertoire of live compositions both for his club sets as well as for a variety of high profile contemporary theatre and dance productions. His latest project, Ultracade, recently premiered at the Brisbane Powerhouse.

DJ TR!P’s melancholy yet beautiful, gritty and grimy signature palette are due to his unique use of obsolete 8-bit computers and video game consoles & his extensive treatment of audio from numerous session musicians. His genre & style shifts effortlessly with each project and collaboration. His music has been released on various independent labels in Australia and internationally.

DJ TR!P had a strong relationship with choreographer Tanja Liedtke, composing for many of her projects including Enter Twilight (Tasdance), the award-winning Twelfth Floor and Construct.

As a Live Performing Act & DJ he has played at a variety of venues, festivals & events including Sundown & Super Deluxe (Tokyo), Game On (Australian Tour for Video Game Exhibition from the Barbican Art Gallery), Ten Days On The Island Festival, MONA FOMA Festival, Adelaide Festival, Big Day Out, Falls Festival, Next Wave Festival, This Is Not Art Festival, Electro Fringe, Adelaide Fringe, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Straight Out Of Brisbane Festival & the Australasian Computer Music Conference. He has also performed along side such acts as Kraftwerk, DJ Krush, John Foxx (of Ultra Vox), Nick Cave, Horace Andy (of Massive Attack), Fuck Buttons, Filastine, James Blood Ulmer, Brian Ritchie (of Violent Femmes), Chicks On Speed, Felix Baloy, Kid Koala, Sage Francis, Buck 65, Anticon, Herbiliser, Mad Professor, Dexter (of Avalanches), Hrvatski , The Saints, DuOud, The Zen Circus, Scanner, Manitoba, Four Play, DBR, Cut Copy, Gerling, Light Surgeons, Paul Mac, Endorphin, Freq Nasty, Curse Ov Dialect, TZU, The Herd, Friendly, Mista Savona, Neotropic, Luke Slater, Dsico, The Bird & Kool Keith.
