Drift

ANTONY HAMILTON

Drift is poetic musing on the urban wasteland. The work renders this as a haunting, voyeuristic glimpse of a subterranean people in limbo; a fleeting vision of the rise and fall of fragile cultures through the passage of time.

Drift is a ‘drive-in’ experience for the audience, and can be performed in a variety of outdoor urban locations.Robin Fox’s austere sound track is transmitted via short wave radio to the audience’s car stereos. Kit Webster’s atmospheric projection for the space enhances the backdrop/architecture. The work features 4 dancers and is approximately 35 minutes long. Audience experience is almost 1 hour taking in to account the travel times to and from the rendezvous point to the venue.
