Tristan Meecham
Tristan Meecham is an artist, producer, and actor who works with the grand and the ridiculous. He is passionate about connecting community, audience, and artists together in events that transcend the everyday.
Most recently, he created the large-scale event FUN RUN. The work premièred in 2010 for the Next Wave Festival and then travelled in 2011 as part of the Darwin Festival, funded through OZCO’s JUMP scheme and National Science Week.
Tristan is currently developing the second of his large-scale performance spectacles FIGHT DANCE FIGHT, which will premiere at the end of 2012 as well as an interactive performance work, Gameshow.
Tristan completed a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts (Acting) at the VCA, where he was awarded the inaugural Richard Pratt Scholarship for Outstanding Acting Student. He also completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts from QUT.
Tristan is a key artistic collaborator with Aphids, an artist led cultural organisation creating collaborations across artforms and borders. In 2012, he will tour Australia with the Aphids’ work, Thrashing Without Looking, via Mobile States.
His performance and artwork has been shown at Performance Space Liveworks, VCA, Artshouse, Headquaters, Queensland Art Gallery, Tiny Stadiums, Metro Arts and The Farm. He also works as a voice over artist, teacher and actor in both theatre and TV.
