FUN RUN
FIGHT DANCE FIGHT

Tristan Meecham

Tris­tan Meecham is an artist, pro­ducer, and actor who works with the grand and the ridicu­lous. He is pas­sion­ate about con­nect­ing com­mu­nity, audi­ence, and artists together in events that tran­scend the everyday.

Most recently, he cre­ated the large-scale event FUN RUN. The work pre­mièred in 2010 for the Next Wave Fes­ti­val and then trav­elled in 2011 as part of the Dar­win Fes­ti­val, funded through OZCO’s JUMP scheme and National Sci­ence Week.

Tris­tan is cur­rently devel­op­ing the sec­ond of his large-scale per­for­mance spec­ta­cles FIGHT DANCE FIGHT, which will pre­miere at the end of 2012 as well as an inter­ac­tive per­for­mance work, Gameshow.

Tris­tan com­pleted a Bach­e­lor of Dra­matic Arts (Act­ing) at the VCA, where he was awarded the inau­gural Richard Pratt Schol­ar­ship for Out­stand­ing Act­ing Stu­dent. He also com­pleted a Bach­e­lor of Visual Arts from QUT.

Tris­tan is a key artis­tic col­lab­o­ra­tor with Aphids, an artist led cul­tural organ­i­sa­tion cre­at­ing col­lab­o­ra­tions across art­forms and bor­ders. In 2012, he will tour Aus­tralia with the Aphids’ work, Thrash­ing With­out Look­ing, via Mobile States.

His per­for­mance and art­work has been shown at Per­for­mance Space Live­works, VCA, Artshouse, Head­quaters, Queens­land Art Gallery, Tiny Sta­di­ums, Metro Arts and The Farm. He also works as a voice over artist, teacher and actor in both the­atre and TV.
